Dear Friends & Family,

We are attempting to do something we’ve never done before. Yes, it’s another short-term mission trip, so that’s not new. What is unusual—and faith-stretching—is pulling together this trip so quickly. We're flying to India on July 31. Crazy? Maybe…

But Jesus has already said, “Go!” We've spent the last 4 months mentoring the young believers who live with us at Community Discipleship Mission (CDM). India has always been a consideration, so we were delighted to rediscover a wonderful Christian ministry in Chennai, India led by Danny and Viji Gupta. It’s called Vijaya Deepam Home.

Our daughter Connie thinks she may be called to India, so she’s VERY excited about this trip. Another CDM’er, Pamela, also knew she would be making a trip to India someday—and now here it is! Danny joyfully welcomed to host us at the Vijaya Deepam Home. Our team has been invited to minister in drama, music, and testimonies in local Christian schools. Almost 50% of the students are not believers. We will also minister to the 15 girls that Danny and Viji have adopted, minister at Danny’s church, and be alert for God-given opportunities to minister wherever! Danny told us they could really use two washing machines and school tuition for the girls. So the cost of our trip includes extra from each of us to help meet some needs.

We (Mark, Kathy, Connie) must raise $2500 (each) to make this trip. The cost is not really the challenge, it’s the very short amount of time we have to raise it! We're praying that the CDM interns will see God provide the support quickly, to confirm in their hearts God's love for these children. It’s a great opportunity for them...and an opportunity for you to invest and share in spreading the kingdom of God in a very needy land.

Truly we need your prayers (see prayer items below). We’re expecting a miraculous provision quickly. We trust where He leads, He provides. So we hope that you’ll partner with us to take God’s love to minister to some of India’s children!

  • Good weather: it's raining like crazy now in Chennai
